photobooth!!!

i finally made it by Photobooth, a badass studio just round the corner from me in the mission. like shutterclank!, this studio is all things analog. beautiful exhibits hang on the walls, with lots of cameras, film, and gear for sale. the main reason to stop in, as the name suggests, is to have your portrait shot. the owners of the studio offer sittings for either tintype or polaroid, with completely reasonable prices. even better, its just a fun place to hang out. its both an inspiring and chilled space, with people sitting around enjoying some Pabst Blue Ribbon and lovin' on film. check it out next...

rollin’ with rollei

three sheets to the wind and deep in the russian river valley, we saw a field of sheep and had to stop. we’ve been chasing sheep for years, so why stop now? it was a clear bright day, just before magic hour so i loaded up the retro rollei film, ISO 80, and shot away. chris was a bit of an ornery subject, but i managed to get a few usable images. and i love ‘em. this film is ridiculously inconsistent though. not a single variable changed as i killed 36 shots in a super short period of time; some of the negatives have no contrast at all, and others have clumps of brightness next to dark areas....
